Disney+ is set to bring back one of the most beloved and timeless adventures of all time with “Peter Pan & Wendy.” The live-action reimagining of J.M. Barrie’s classic novel, and the 1953 animated version, is directed by David Lowery, who also directed “The Green Knight” and “Pete’s Dragon.” The movie will be available for streaming exclusively on Disney+ from April 28, 2023.
The teaser trailer depicts Wendy Darling, who is afraid to leave her childhood behind, meeting the boy who never grows up, Peter Pan. Together with her brothers and Tinker Bell, they travel to a magical world called Neverland, where they encounter the villainous Captain Hook. The adventure promises to be thrilling and dangerous, ultimately changing Wendy’s life forever.
Jude Law, known for his roles in “The Young Pope” and “Sherlock Holmes,” plays Captain Hook, while Alexander Molony takes on the role of Peter Pan. Fans of the “Resident Evil” franchise will recognize Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling, while Yara Shahidi of “Grown-ish” fame plays Tinker Bell.
“The Jim Gaffigan Show” star Jim Gaffigan, who is known for his comedic roles, is also part of the cast, along with Jacobi Jupe, Molly Parker, and Alan Tudyk from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
